MOAB

Many months ago, Josh and my two brothers discussed meeting up in Moab, Utah for the Moab Century Bike Ride. We were able to get together and enjoy the warm weather, the beautiful views, and the comradery of the bike riders.

We rolled into camp about 11:45 Friday night. We are very thankful to Carl for setting up a tent for us to use so we weren't doing it so late.

Day 1: Saturday September 19th
Wake Up Call: 6:00 a.m.
Bike Ride Started from our location at the campground but hosted by a hotel up the road. The guys were on the road about 7:00 after breakfast.

While the guys were riding we decided to do some exploring. The first road we came to we took it and found some really cool places. There were petroglyphs and dinosaur tracks. We did some climbing and exploring. We took lots of pictures of the scenery and went on a few hikes.

I met the guys at the first rest stop of their ride to pass off masks.

These pictures were taken by Josh at the guys lunch stop.

Then back to exploring!

The amount of dirt Kaytlin carried around in her shoes probably matched the weight of the rocks she packed on the trail for the majority of the hike.

Funny Story about this next stop we made. We saw a sign for the Jug Handle Arch so we turned in. We were going up this dirt road and it kept narrowing and we saw lots of ATV's. I turned to Brayden after going a few miles on this little dirt road and said I don't think we were supposed to follow this little dirt road. So we backed up until we could turn around and headed back out. Right where we turned off the main road was the arch I was trying to find the whole time.

At the end of the day the ride fed the guys and we relaxed around camp.

Day 2: Sunday September 20, 2020
Wake Up: 6:30 a.m.
Bike Riding Commenced: 7:15 a.m.
While the guys rode we tore down camp, watched our church meeting, did some more exploring, checked out some area parks, and went swimming.

We found this really cool park that had lots of musical chimes and pipes to play.

Any time we found water we had to play and cool off.

They made it. The averaged about 130 miles/each between the two days. After they finished riding we got on the road so we could get home before midnight. We made it by 10:30 p.m.

Can't wait to meet up for the ride next year!
