 Life Architect Retreat

February 9th - 11th, 2023

We were able to attend a Health & Emotional Resilience Retreat in St. George, Utah. This retreat is one the of the best activities I have had the opportunity to attend and it was especially great because we were able to go together.

The retreat was held at Holmstead Ranch. Our little cabin was beautiful surrounded by views beyond what I could have imagined. We attended enrichment classes and met so many new friends!

Jared Smithson leading a discussion to open the retreat!
"Trials don't get easier! You only get new trials. We become more capable of managing more trials as we push through each one."

Day 2
Many shared their health journeys with the group.

Jen Oxford (our health coach) led a discussion about trauma.
"Trauma occurs when you aren't seen, heard or known."
We were asked to take some time to see ourselves, hear ourselves, and know ourselves. We can rewrite our stories. Are you a victim or the cocreator of your story?
.

We discussed the 4 components of emotional Resilience, disappointments, our expectations vs our preferences, goals, grit, routines, looking towards the future, and an amazing horse therapy where we discussed our reactions to life. Our natural instinct is to fight, flight or freeze. The opposite could be true though...Willful surrender, stay, inner stillness. Be Curious! We have to become aware and make peace with our deficiencies and flaws and move forward. The wild mustang that finally after much struggle against himself willfully surrendered and allowed us to pet him. I can't even begin to describe the experience.
