End of Summer

September & October
2012

We have had so much fun this summer and we are sad to see it go! All good things must come to an end. Although snow is just around the corner we are still enjoying a few nice days. This past weekend we went to Boise for the Boise Temple Open House!

Some other things we did while we were in Boise. We went to the Idaho State Penitentiary.
The outer wall which had the guard towers.
One of the many that served time there!
 Warden's House
We decided against the tour of the Penitentiary because we had the children with us! The tour consists of  over 100 years of Idaho’s unique prison history with a visit to Solitary Confinement, cell blocks, and the Gallows. We felt this would traumatize the kids so decided not to tour it but Josh and I would love to go back and check it out!
The State Capital Building
At the Idaho Museum of Mining and Geology.
This brought back some fun memories from my childhood when we would go exploring and find geodes with quartz in them. We used to call them crystals and we would treasure them and take them home to keep.

We had fun in Boise but it is always good to be home!

A few weeks ago we went to Yellowstone. It was so beautiful.

We were driving and Josh said that it would make his whole trip if he saw a bear. Of course I was thinking it ain't going to happen. I was eating lunch in the car when Josh hit the brakes and said BEAR! So I dropped my lunch and grabbed the camera! This black bear came out of the wooded area to our left and crossed the street in front of our vehicle and was gone in a flash.

The same day we went to Yellowstone our newest baby nephew was born to Jason and Gwenda. They named him Zander. After so many problems at birth he was finally able to go home! We can't wait to meet this little guy!

We got comfortable for conference.

Snow is in the forcast for us here in Idaho so stay warm and have a safe Halloween!
